Environment Department
To stimulate interest in the cultivation of flowers, to gain a deeper appreciation of the beauties of nature, and to encourage home gardening.
- Participate and serve as judges in the Bluegrass Fair Horticultural Contest and Flower Show.
- Serve on the Council of Garden Clubs.
- Sample guest speakers/topics include: Tour local nurseries, gardens, and farms; Blue Grass Rain Garden Alliance; Blue Grass Herb Guild; Lexington Farmer’s Market; University of Kentucky’s Arboretum; UK Fayette County Extension Office; native plants, perennials and bulbs.
- Annual plant exchange and auction.
